A New Take On…

Late Night Snacks

One of my favorite trends in receptions are the late night snacks. Such a fun way to add some personality to your reception. You can keep the reception food more traditional (or funky too) and then finish with some cute snacks. Here are a few of my favorites:

Savory

Savory1Savory favorites are Mini Quesadillas, Petite Twice Baked Potatoes, Boudin Sliders, and the so-cute Chicken and Waffle bite. I love each of these because they are perfect party foods. When it’s late at night and you’ve been drinking, you need some indulgent snacks! Other fun options include mini grilled cheese with tomato soup shooters, mini lobster rolls, and truffle fries. There are tons more options, just think of your favorite “cheat day” items but mini!

 Sweet

For the sweets side of late night snacks the ideas are limitless. Here are 4 of my favorites:

Mini Baked Alaska, S’more Bars, Mini Funnel Cakes and of course Beignets (this is New Orleans after all!). Other super cute ideas are chocolate chip cookies with a milk shooter, mini poptarts, and mini doughnuts. Again, super easy: just take your favorite dessert/breakfast foods and shrink them!

There is one more fun option for late night snacks: take out! We have had several really cute presentations of fast food options. One bride and groom wanted to pass their favorite post-party snack of Papa John’s pizza. We had our kitchen cut the pizzas in to smaller slices and passed them in the take out box. The guests LOVED it! We’ve also passed Popeye’s chicken, and as you can see from the photo below, Cane’s chicken fingers, Texas toast, and fries. This one was a kitchen favorite – we all love Cane’s, and might have picked up some extra to feed the staff when we got their order….Takeout
